Trattoria General Manager Celebrates 27 Years of Marriage with Great Food and Wine in Beautiful Northern Michigan

Cantoro Trattoria General Manager and Certified Sommelier Alex Bazzy celebrated 27 years of marriage with his wife Felicia this summer with a trip to one of the most beautiful places in America: Northern Michigan. Bazzy and his wife, who are very well-traveled, decided to do what they like to do best right in their glorious home state: enjoy great food and drink wine from across the globe at their cabin on Manistee Lake.
Bazzy and his team manage the Trattoria with deep knowledge about service, food and wine and have built a group of like-minded individuals who all enjoy the same love of creating beautiful dining experiences for guests. The result is a staff that are the best servers, chefs and bartenders in the area. What does this have to do with travel? Plenty.
“One of the reasons why I love traveling, aside from the obvious of seeing the world, is that I’m always looking to experience different ways restaurants are preparing and serving meals; what wine they are choosing for their menu; and the methods they use to operate smoothly and efficiently,” said Bazzy. “I stay at the forefront of innovative food, drinks and service, which helps keep our customers returning over and over again. We consider dining an experience.”
Bazzy gave big kudos to Trattoria Stella located in Traverse City where he and Felicia visited for their anniversary dinner. The restaurant is similar to Cantoro Trattoria in their ideas about innovation in Michigan dining. There, Bazzy took particular interest in a wine dispensing system where special wine stoppers are used that blanket the inside of the bottle with nitrogen to keep wine fresher for a longer period.
Taking a step back from bustling restaurant life, Bazzy said his Michigan vacation was a chance to relax and, without skipping a beat, find more ways to keep Cantoro Trattoria the premier destination in metro Detroit for authentic Italian dining.
